Objective of the Function:
AAC IT GTS Cloud and Platform DevOps control the Global Platforms landscape in order to deliver compliant, reliable, flexible and cost efficient solutions and support and let the performance of the environments meet the demands and service levels of ABN AMRO Clearing. The Observability Stream is essential in providing the insight, both reactive and predictive, in to this landscape to ensure these objectives can be achieved.

Results and Core Activities:
Be an SME for the suite of products that make up the observability platform
Work through tasks prioritised and assigned in the Observability backlog
Work through Project tasks as assigned through Projects
Ensure Platform stability and that Observability SLA’s are met
Complete LCM activites for the Observability platform
Look for ways to enhance the platform to better deliver value for the business
Improve dashboarding/alerting to provide platform reliability

Knowledge and Experience:
Mapping security requirements to monitored data (SIEM knowledge a plus)
Splunk cluster design and managerment
Splunk ‘Getting Data In’ methods and configuration
Splunk Searching, Dashboarding, alerting and app creation
Deep understanding of monitoring methodologies
Good understating of Prometheus and Grafana
Thorough comprehension of CICD services and integrations in to the observability platform
Good knowledge of Ansible Automation and Management.
Scripting in Ruby/Bash/Powershell/Python
Understanding of JIRA Kanban, backlogs, and agile approaches
Proven ability at work scheduling for themselves and others

Communication – Key Stakeholders:
Strong interpersonal skills which are required to liaise with technical and business users across different regions
Proactive communicator to foresee and address issues before they arise
Proven ability to work well under pressure and to multiple deadlines, practical thinker.
Flexible attitude to working hours, including travel / working different time zones and weekend working when applicable
Strong written documentation skills.
Change management – adhering to ITIL procedures to ensure that any changes are carried out successfully.
Problem management – liaising with relevant parties to achieve a resolution.
Project management – experience of managing or working on projects.
